Naperville, IL

"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!"
Psalm 103:1 (ESV)

I am currently attending the 10th Triennial Session and 55th Session of the Advent Christian General Conference in Naperville, IL. Delegates and guests have come from around the world to take part in this convention which began last night with a powerful worship service and the ministry of Rev. Ray Marco from Miami, FL. Ray challenged us by sharing his story of living out his commitment to walk through any door that God would open. I was deeply moved by his story of humble obedience and confident faith that God has used to impact thousands upon thousands of people around the world. And, as we learned last night, the "Best is Yet to Come!"
We are staying in the Holiday Inn Select in Naperville and it has proved already to be an adequate facility for our gathering. After an opening session of reporting and presentations by various members of the denominational staff, those present broke for lunch and will take part in training sessions this afternoon. Tonight we will again gather together to worship and then sit under the teaching of Dr. Scott McKnight, author of "The Jesus Creed".
If you happen to be reading this while the convention is underway (June 20-25), I would ask you to remember this gathering in your prayers. Pray that God would visit us in a powerful way and that His people will respond. We earnestly desire to discover that "The Best is Yet to Come!"

Enjoy yourself at General Conf. (we'll be enjoying ourselves in Alaska starting Wednesday...). I am praying that God sends passion for Him and the lost to our churches through those who attend in IL. I hope you get to visit with friends while there too...that is always fun.
