It is hard to believe we are now into our second week in China and our time here is starting to wind down. It will be over way too quickly, of that I'm certain. Friday was planned to be a busy day, but as it wore on we found we were just all worn out and it ended up being more of a stick around home and rest up day. Of course, that meant for Barb and I, lots of time to enjoy being with Sarah. The day began with a rude awakening when we discovered that the hot water heater hadn't been reset after the power outage yesterday. Barb was the lucky on to be "refreshed" with a cold shower first thing in the morning. David had an important meeting at lunchtime so elected to spend the morning at the apartment with all of us. Plans were to heard out to the mountains west of Kunming in the afternoon. We read, watched recorded tv shows, chatted via the internet and worked on travel arrangements for our trip home. When David went to his lunch, we headed out to another one of David and Marianne's favorite restaurants for lunch. We are amazed at how good the Chinese food is here (just kidding) and really can't believe the prices. Four of ate a lunch feast for about $12 US. Here is a sampling...When we had finished lunch Marianne took us by to see where her old apartment was when she first came to China. It was a 7th floor walkup! David called to say he was just starting lunch since he had been in long interview prior to ordering and wanted to let us know he would be late getting back to the apartment. It was very warm in Kunming today so we used the time to rest and cool down in the apartment. Here are a few pictures from David and Marianne's apartment.Barb rocking Sarah in the nursey.Looking through the dining room into the kitchen. Here is Shawn on the computer and Marianne reading in the living room.
When David finally arrived home at about 3:00pm we decided to just stay home and relax for the rest of the day. Marianne prepared a simple but delicous supper for us and later that evening we watched last weeks episode of "Survivor" that they had downloaded off of the internet.
We remain thankful for God's provision of this trip and the blessings he has given us while we have been here. Truly, His mercies are new every morning, and I am wondering what He has in store for us tomorrow. As I end this post just one additonal picture of our pride and joy, Sarah Grace Dean at 10 weeks of age.
